The Giving Tree

I wish we lived in a world where there really are free opportunities to do whatever we want, where there isn't a "catch" at the end of every contract or promotion and one where people get what they deserve. People who constantly work hard don't get the money or recognition that they deserve, while other people who don't give a damn about anyone but themselves are earning more money than these struggling people will ever see in a lifetime. It's such a shame to see how our nation's morals and opportunities have steadily declined over the past couple of decades, and it's really hard to say if we'll ever get back to where we used to be.

When we were younger, all of the older people always said:
"Don't ever let money get in the way of your dreams..."
well...guess what? Money is the main reason why I'm probably not going to be able to achieve anything. How the heck do they expect us to go to school and pay attention when we're too busy trying to figure out if we're even going to stay in school because we don't know if we can afford it.

It's such a horrible thing to make money the main obstacle for a person, and it makes no sense that the UC Regents would increase the tuition. The UC Regents, out of all the people who work with the UCs, should know how difficult it is for a college student or prospective college student to afford college. They should understand how much they had to struggle to get to their positions, they should understand that WE'RE the ones paying for them to still be UC Regents...what would happen if there aren't anymore students who are willing to pay for them?
We might as well go to private schools, I mean eventually we're going to be paying as much as they do, right?

I really don't know what I'm going to do about school next year, I mean I'm already struggling to pay for school right now and I'm not about to ask my parents for more money that they can't give me. I hate that this economy really, really...sucks.

Post Scriptum:
Happy Birthday Grandma Nena! We Love and Miss you!
--If there was one thing that she would want us to take away from all of the advice she ever gave us, it was how to PRAY. I guess there's really only one thing we can do about this, other than protest and cry about it, we'll just have to wait for God to guide us in these stressful situations, because in the end, he's the only one who matters, he's the only one who can decide, he's the ONLY ONE who can really say why all of these things happen. HE does things not to test us, but to humble us in our surroundings. Salamat sa Liwanag Mo.
